NC SHIIP is a program in the NC Department of Insurance with a mission to help seniors with
concerns or questions about Medicare, Medicare supplemental insurance or long-term care
insurance.  SHIIP has trained volunteers to help guide you through the Medicare Prescription
Drug Plan (PDP) finder tool as well as the "Extra help" SSA subsidy forms.  To find a SHIIP

Local Outreach Coordinator (LOC)
LOCs receive federal funds in each county answer questions for seniors transitioning from
Senior Care to Medicare Part D.   Click

CMS has customer representatives to help you choose a PDP (or MA PDP) on the phone.  Have
the information found on the "Decisions to make" page ready when you call.   

If your annual income is below $14,355 (single person) or <$19,245 (couple) you
might qualify for extra help paying for your medications.  You should contact the
